OFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL POLICY

JOINT JURIST

Effective Period: (From June 2026)

Clause I: Comprehensive Declaration of Originality and Exclusivity

By submitting your legal research, article, or case comment to the Joint Jurist  you enter into a formal, binding agreement regarding the absolute exclusivity of your work. Every author must solemnly declare that the manuscript provided is their original creation and has not been published, nor is it currently under review, by any other platform globally. This restriction encompasses all digital websites, printed magazines, domestic or international law journals, academic periodicals, personal or professional blogs, e-books, or any other public medium where a paper can be accessed.

We take the issue of “Double Submission” exceptionally seriously. It directly compromises the valuable time of our peer-reviewers and editorial board members who work rigorously to maintain academic standards. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple platforms simultaneously constitutes a major ethical violation. Therefore, upon hitting the submit button, you explicitly confirm that Joint Jurist  is the sole exclusive platform evaluating your work.

Clause II: The Binding Nature of the No-Withdrawal Mandate

The administrative and editorial framework of the Joint Jurist  is anchored on the principle of professional commitment. The moment a manuscript is officially submitted to our editorial desk, it is instantly logged into our database and allocated to a specific editor for preliminary plagiarism filtering and quality assessment.

Due to the technical and human resources deployed immediately upon submission, we enforce a strict “No-Withdrawal Mandate.” Once a paper is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn for any personal reasons whatsoever. We expect all contributors—whether undergraduate students, research scholars, or practicing advocates—to be entirely certain of their research commitment prior to submission.

We do not entertain withdrawal requests based on personal changes of mind, alternative publishing opportunities, or drafting errors. This rule ensures a seamless editorial workflow, allowing us to dedicate our energy exclusively to serious contributors who value scholarly discipline.

Clause III: Authorized Withdrawal Windows and Necessary Conditions

While our structural regulations are stringent, we believe in maintaining absolute fairness toward our contributors. Accordingly, we allow only two specific exceptions where an author may formally request the withdrawal of their manuscript during the review process:

  1. The 3-Day Response Window: We deeply respect your time. If the Joint Jurist  fails to communicate any response—whether a selection letter, rejection notice, or request for revisions—within 3 working days from the exact date of your submission, you possess the absolute right to withdraw your paper immediately, with no questions asked.

  2. Advanced Stage Penalty: If an author desires to withdraw their manuscript after the initial 3-day window has closed and the review process has advanced, they may only do so upon paying a mandatory Administrative Penalty of ₹350 (Three Hundred and Fifty Rupees).

Unless one of these two explicit conditions is met, the manuscript remains under the permanent, exclusive academic control of the Journal until a final decision is rendered by the Editor-in-Chief.

Clause IV: Post-Selection Binding Window, Penalty, and Liability Disclaimer

Upon the successful completion of the peer-review process, the Journal will issue an official Confirmation/Selection Letter to the corresponding author via email.

  • The 5-Day Final Communication Window: Once the Selection Letter is sent, the author is granted a strict window of 5 calendar days to communicate any formal requests for withdrawal.

  • Mandatory Penalty for Post-Selection Withdrawal: If an author wishes to withdraw their manuscript within this 5-day post-selection window, they can only do so upon paying a mandatory Administrative Penalty of ₹350 (Three Hundred and Fifty Rupees) to compensate for the editorial and technical processing layout already generated. Without the settlement of this penalty, the paper will not be released.

  • Deemed Acceptance Past 5 Days: If the author fails to notify the editorial desk regarding a withdrawal within these 5 days, it will be legally deemed as Absolute and Irrevocable Acceptance of publication. Past this 5-day deadline, the manuscript enters the final production, layout design, and archiving stage, and no request for withdrawal or modification will be entertained under any circumstances, regardless of any penalty payment.

  • Complete Disclaimer of Liability: The Joint Jurist Journal (JJJ), its editorial board, the management team, and the Publisher shall not be held liable for any future academic, professional, legal, or commercial disputes that may arise regarding the manuscript after this binding window. Whether the dispute concerns co-authorship conflicts, institutional objections, or dual-publishing claims by third parties, the entire responsibility and legal liability will rest solely and exclusively on the submitting author(s). The Journal stands completely indemnified against all subsequent claims once the 5-day post-selection window lapses.

Clause V: Enforcement Rights and Consequences of Policy Violation

In the event that an author attempts to circumvent these rules or initiates an unauthorized withdrawal, the Joint Jurist Journal reserves its full right to invoke disciplinary and legal remedies to protect its administrative and academic interests:

  • Permanent Blacklisting: The Journal retains the discretionary power to permanently blacklist violating authors, barring them from any future publications under our banner.

  • Archival & Publication Rights: If a withdrawal is executed in bad faith or without clearing the mandatory ₹350 penalty, the Journal retains the right to archive, utilize, or publish the manuscript as it deems fit, as the author has failed to honor the agreed-upon submission contract.

  • Financial Indemnity: The penalty of ₹350 will be heavily enforced as a fine to cover the loss of official editorial time.
